Ash Class begin our Learning Journey

IYear 2's topic for the first half of this Autumn term is Journeys and Transport. Ash Class began by exploring all the different maths resources in our class to find out what would be most helpful in making our maths work as good as possible. Most importantly everyone looked for things that could help when a problem might look a little tricky to solve. Emilijus and Cass worked as a team to complete our 100 square that was missing rather a lot of numbers and to put others in the right place. They then had to explain to others that came over to help what was the best way of sorting the piles of number cards into the right place. Finally they managed to complete their task! They will be able to use the number square up on our Maths learning wall even better now.

Brooke was determined to find out what would the answer be when she doubled the 900 she had made on the flip chart. Does anyone else know what the answer to this is? Let Mrs. Peterson know if you discover what it is - make sure you can explain how you got the answer . . . Everyone else found counters, pegs and tape measures to do some maths around the class.
