Walking Another Mile!

10 miles now, well done Walnut!

Moving Our Maths Forward

We started with the post it game to warm up our Maths brains this morning.

We thought about using blank numberlines to subtract.

Then, we played the 'I'm thinking of a number' game with a friend, to reinforce using the inverse.

Maths Rotation in Walnut

We explored three elements of Maths this afternoon.

Calculation outside with Miss Rous which was great fun!

Missing number problems with Mrs Tatman, using the inverse to find the number we needed, and check our answers.

We also used the iPads to explore a super Time app. Always Busy ~ Never Dull!

Thursdays Fractions

Flying Eggs

As part of DT, I challenged the children to make a mini egg fly using only 4 elastic bands, 6 lolly sticks and a plastic spoon. Then had to test out some ideas and come up with a design.

We then tested them out. Well done Kim and Blythe for making the egg go the furthest. Also well done to Alicjia and Lucy for a great design.

Fraction Art

We cut circles into 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8 and then created some great pictures out of the fractions. We had to work out the fractions then used to create our picture.

Miss Rous In A Muddle!

We seem to have exhausted poor Miss Rous this half term!
She was teaching red word spellings this morning, but things didn't go quite according to plan.

What was the problem?

It is a good job that we are so speedy at spotting mistakes! There was a lot of Think Pink.

We promised Miss Rous that we would try to spell all of the red words correctly in our writing now!
