What Does Christmas Mean To You? Walnut

Lots of lovely chat this morning about the festive season, and how we celebrate Christmas at home.

We then looked in the Bible to see if we could find the story about the birth of Jesus.

There were clues such as The Wise Men, Angel Gabriel and shepherds!

We talked about why Jesus was a gift from God..... can you remember some of the thoughtful suggestions?

Inspire and Values points

Don't forget that you can swap your Inspire and Values points for rewards. Some of you have some really big totals but haven't spent any points.  If you need help with doing this at home, please ask one of the grown ups.

Early Work Spellings

We are still practising our weekly spellings and handwriting when we get into school.

This should help with our joining and presentation!

A BIG write

Some super effort shown today whilst writing about the Baker's Cat in Pudding Lane. Our stamina for writing is really improving. Next we need to focus on beautiful presentation...

Millie was Wagoll, well done!

2D Shape exploring

The square and triangle groups explored some 2D shapes today. They used their new multiplication skills to work out the amount of corners multiple shapes would have.

Who was the first one to bingo?

Reading Detectives

As well as learning a poem by heart this afternoon, we also practised our cursive and hunted for Christmas verbs.

Shape Multiplication

Exploring properties of shapes to reinforce our multiplication work today.

Pudding Lane Bakery Maths!

Last week, Mrs Tatman pretended to be the baker working in Pudding Lane.

She had to mix two different types of flour to make a certain total for each recipe.

Then it was our turn to try and find as many combinations of two numbers to find our total!

We worked in teams... some great INSPIRE learning and lots of Values points given out!

 More measures on Thursday!

More shared reading

Looking at Osbert the Christmas penguin.
We are practising using Answer, Prove, Explain. We are great at answering but need a bit more practice to prove and explain.
