Vets and Pets

We are very lucky to have been visited by James mum to teach us all about the job of a vet!
She used to be a veterinary nurse and told us all about what she did, what she used and some funny stories along the way!
THANK YOU!!!
Who thinks they would like to be a vet when they grow up?

Debate - Does Tuffy the cat deserve to be grounded?

We have been perfecting our debating skills and thinking of reasons for and against Tuffy the cat being grounded?
Is he really a murderer?

We also learnt about how MP's debate things in the house of commons. Some children are now even considering a career in debating!

A metre?

We investigated things in our classroom which were longer than and shorter than a metre.
WE thought carefully about the skills needed to use a ruler.

Too Windy For Wincombe Woods!

Despite the weather, we continued our learning about living things this morning, starting with a 'fill in the gaps' task.

Then, we wrote statements about habitats for a True or False game which was great fun!

Talking Team Work ~ PSHE in Walnut

We used this question to start our discussion session this morning.

There were some very interesting responses, and great explanations about why choices had been made.

Then we moved on to a team challenge.
Mrs Tatman saw some fabulous examples of what makes a team work together successfully ~ well done Walnut!

What Might Live in the Woodland?

Have you ever thought of which creatures may live in the woods near you?

Have a look at this video to start your thinking!

Fingers crossed, we will be able to explore this type of habitat first hand on Wednesday.

This morning we read to Poplar class and then they read some stories to us.

We had such a lovely time!
