Fire of London Houses

We talked about what it was about the houses built in the 1600s that made them so susceptible to fire.

We discussed that because the fire were made of wood, and had thatched roofs they caught on fire quickly. They were also built very close together with second floors almost touching and this meant that the fire spread very quickly.

We built our own houses today to recreate a Tudor London, we might be burning them down! Watch this space!
