Let's Go Japan! Rugby World Cup update

Ash class drew Japan "The Brave Blossoms"  as their team to follow in  the Rugby World Cup.  So we have decided to learn as much as we can about Japan over the next few weeks. Japan won their match against South Africa and we enjoyed cheering them on this afternoon as watched the highlights of the game.  We talked about how well they played as a team and how, even if something seems really difficult, it's still possible to succeed!
During Guided Reading we discovered that Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan and lots of other interesting facts too.

We were very lucky that Mrs Clark discovered lots of Japanese food in her classroom which she was happy for us to look at.  We thought about why they eat lots of sushi and seaweed - probably because, as Charlie said, they are surrounded by the "great big ocean."

Do enjoy looking on different websites such as this one for more information about Japan http://www.oocities.org/teacherkab/countries/japan.htm

The next match for us to cheer on our team is on Wednesday afternoon when Japan play against Scotland.

Share with your family how to say hello and goodbye in Japanese.
